After yesterday’s sensational slalom, back to the future again with a full day of foil course racing with all the tight, intense, high adrenaline drama we are already becoming accustomed to.
And tomorrow more spectacular racing followed by a thrilling “Big Wednesday” winners-take-all knock out Medal Races series for the top 12 sailors.
In almost perfect conditions in a building breeze to 20 knots men sailed two course races earlier in the day completing the qualifying series, moving into the final series with four additional course races, while women sailed a total of five races.
Nicolas Goyard (FRA 465) topped the men’s leaderboard with Matteo Iachino (ITA 140), Sebastian Koerdel (GER 220) and Thomas Goyard (FRA 3), all close together with all four sailors displaying great skill and technique.
In the women, Helene Noesmoen (FRA 57) is in fine form continuing to sail all bullets safe one, followed by Maja Diziarnowska (POL 7), Isla Watson (GBR 529) and a recovering Lilian de Gaus (NED 3), all now bunched together.
